At Aoi Pui School, we aim to provide a holistic program which adapts National Curriculum approved by the Education Department that includes academic modules and extra-curricular activities in order to cultivate all-round individuals. Such inclusive and individualized curriculum is planned and executed by our well-trained team with the hope to unleash students’ unique potential and maximize their progress. We adopt Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the only researched intervention that shows a portion of children with ASD can become indistinguishable from their peers following intensive treatment from a young age.
Autism is a severe disruption of the normal development process and is often diagnosed within the first few years of life. Autism is viewed as a spectrum or a continuum of disorders, with varying degrees of severity and levels of functioning. The term Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is frequently used interchangeably with autism. Diagnoses from DSM-IV such as Asperger’s Syndrome, Childhood Disintegrative Disorder, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Autistic Disorder and Pervasive Developmental Disorders (Not Otherwise Specified) are now all included within the umbrella of ASD under DSM-5.
Applied Behavior Analysis has been shown to be highly effective with students with ASD for more than three decades. There is no other treatment has shown to be more effective or has the same amount of scientific evidence to support it. With many years of experience consulting school districts in USA and various countries, founders of Aoi Pui School discover classrooms that employ ABA positively with high degree of flexibility in natural manner benefit students with ASD the most. Classroom established in this manner does not only teach communication, academic, self-help and leisure skills effectively and efficiently, but also provide students with a learning environment to acquire classroom skills, set the stage for systematic teaching of social skills and facilitate the generalization of skills outside school.
